The Capital Ring is a 73 mile circular path around London which can easily be split into shorter runs eg
Highgate Woods to Richmond
Richmond to Crystal Palace
Crystal Palace to Woolwich
Woolwich to Highgate Woods
Richmond, Crystal Palace and Woolwich are all readily accessible on public transport.
For those people who rarely venture south of the river you may impressed. The South East section is particularly good.
