The club's Annual General Meeting will be held on Monday 14 November at 7pm at The Grafton pub, just down the road from the Talacre. Please come! This is your chance to discuss the direction of the club. And there will be snacks!

A new committee will be voted in to take up their posts in 2017, the list of roles is below. The committee welcomes new members. If you are interested in standing for any of the roles, please email Alice before the AGM. If you would like to discuss the roles with the current incumbents, please see the Who’s Who.

2016 Role descriptions

Chair: Chairs meetings ensuring the agenda is followed and everyone's voice is heard. Facilitates the smooth running of the club by making sure all important tasks are actioned. Sits in the biggest chair.

Secretary: Compiles the agenda and creates the minutes of committee meetings.

Treasurer: Manages club accounts. Arranges payment of expenses that arise. Does the annual accounts.

Membership: Ensures that the club recruits new members from a diverse cross section of the community. Replies to occasional email queries about the club. Some administrative tasks, but these are mostly automated by the website.

Events: Makes sure that the Summer League events are run smoothly. Makes sure that the club has a range of events through the year. Keeps us entertained.

Website: Designer and editor of the website

Coaching co-ordinator: Oversees the coaching programme and organises the volunteer coaches (including beginners and track).

Newsletter: Editor and author of the weekly newsletter.

Social: Organizes social events. E.g. monthly pub night, Christmas party, post marathon party and barbecue. Drinks heavily.

Club captains: (2 male, 2 female) Shouts out the runs on Tuesday nights. Ensures that everyone has a suitable run available. Is a friendly face that members can approach with questions. Club captains normally take on another role.

Other Roles

There are a number of vital roles which can be carried out as committee roles (e.g. by club captains or other committee members) but can also be carried out by non-committee members. These are:
