Mornington Chasers Newsletter
2 November 2025
Dear Chasers,
I hope you’ve had a great week. We’ve got plenty of chaser news, race shout outs, upcoming socials and some exciting London Marathon news so make sure you read all the way to the end!
Spooky run – This Tuesday 4th November!
The annual Spooky Run is back on 4th November, and it’s the event of the year, one not to be missed! Join us for a frightfully fun run filled with eerie energy, plenty of fancy dress, and a cheeky shot or two along the way. Scroll for costume inspiration and all the details you need below!
What does the Spooky run involve?
A headtorch run across Hampstead Heath. Fancy dress strongly recommended. Costumes range from full-on spooky, think ghosts or as one Chaser rocked a Donald Trump mask, to simple touches like a themed accessory — it’s all about getting into the spirit in your own way.
We will meet at Talacre at the usual time. It is an approximately 10k run, but we aim to provide a shorter run for beginners meeting at Gospel Oak. The shorter route will be entirely on paths, there may be a little off-road on the full version. Pace of the slowest.
The club has a number of headtorches, but if you have one of your own please bring it.
We'll head to the pub after the run.
Big thank you to John for organising!
Christmas Party 5th December 7pm
On 5th December at 7pm the doors will open at The Prince Albert in Camden, to host the one and only... Mornington Chasers' Christmas Party!
Tickets are £15 and include a Welcome drink, Buffet-style food, Live music & band, Chaser-style festivities and optional boogie.
It's the one, official event where Chasers are allowed to drop their striped vests and transform into unrecognisable, glamorous, festive icons. Let's celebrate and cheers to a fabulous year of running. See you there ๐งก๐
Buy tickets here.
A big thank you to Izzy and Tom, our social secs, for organising!
Well done to the Beginners Group!
Last Tuesday saw the Beginners complete their 8 week course, completing a 5k continuous run. Well done everyone, this is a huge achievement. Don't be strangers, keep coming to Tuesday social runs and other club events, this is just the start!
Cross Country News
Saturday 1st November was the second Chingford League fixture at Eastbrookend Country Park. The Halloween Friday night rainstorm didn’t put off the chasers, and there was a great team turnout.
Next Saturday is the Parliament Hill SEAA Cross Country Championships. You can no longer sign up, but you can still come along and see the spectacle of runners taking on the Hampstead Heath hills and cheer your teammates. The women start at 1.15pm and men at 2pm. More details on location here.
The next Cross Country fixture you can still sign up for is the Met League Fixture 2 at Horsenden Hill 15th November. Find more information and sign up here.
If you’re tempted to try Cross Country but want to find out more, check out the cross country guide and join the WhatsApp community Cross Country channel.
