26 October 2025

Dear Chasers, I hope you’ve had a great weekend and week of running! It’s been another busy week with more cross country fun, shiny PB’s and tough Tuesday runs including Connors 4x up Highgate hill route which got a few gasps on Tuesday.  Stay tuned for lots of fun coming up including the spooky run and Xmas party... Mornington Chasers Regent’s Park 10k Winter Series - Sunday 2nd November  A huge thank you to all our amazing volunteers who’ve already signed up to support the Regent's Park Winter 10K Series this November  — we couldn’t do it without you! Volunteer spots are now full for the first race, but if you'd like to help out at future events, check out the upcoming dates below. Volunteering is a great way to get involved, and it comes with some awesome perks — like free entry to future Winter Series races and priority consideration for club places in events like The Big Half and the London Marathon! Don’t miss out — we’ve got an exclusive 15% off just for you with code MC15. It’s the perfect reason to rally your friends and family and hit the start line together this winter. To sign up to run, please click here! If you can’t make November, worry not! please have a look to see if you can do any of the other races in the series, which are on the calendar too: Sunday 7th December: Sign up here to volunteer  Sunday 4th January: Sign up here to volunteer Sunday 1st Febuary: Sign up here to volunteer Sunday 1st March: Sign up here to volunteer        Spooky Run - Tuesday 4th November  The annual Spooky Run is back on 4th November, and it’s the event of the year, one not to be missed! Join us for a frightfully fun run filled with eerie energy, plenty of fancy dress, and a cheeky shot or two along the way. Scroll for costume inspiration and all the details you need below!  What does the Spooky run involve?  A headtorch run across Hampstead Heath. Fancy dress strongly recommended. Costumes range from full-on spooky, think ghosts or as one Chaser rocked a Donald Trump mask, to simple touches like a themed accessory — it’s all about getting into the spirit in your own way. More inspo below...    We will meet at Talacre at the usual time. It is an approximately 10k run, but we aim to provide a shorter run for beginners meeting at Gospel Oak. The shorter route will be entirely on paths, there may be a little off-road on the full version. Pace of the slowest. The club has a number of headtorches, but if you have one of your own please bring it. We'll head to the pub after the run. Big thank you to John for organising  Beginners Course - Week 8 The Chasers beginners course is now in it's final week! Massive well done to all the begginers for all their hardwork and all the volunteers who help make this happen. If you are keen to help out, put your name down for the final week in this course, please click here for week 8.  🎄 Christmas Party Alert! Friday 5th December It’s official — the Chasers Christmas Party is booked and happening on Friday 5th December at the Prince Albert in Camden! Time to swap the Lycra for something a little more festive as we trade intervals for intervals at the bar 🍻. Expect good food, plenty of drinks, and maybe even a few questionable dance moves. We know there’s an XC race and the Regent’s Park 10K that weekend, but come on — if anyone knows how to recover, it’s runners!  Tickets will be on sale on the online store soon so please do keep an eye out!  For now, please keep Firday 5th December free. Feel free to sack off your boring office party for this one.       Cross Country Season Cross country season has officially hit the ground running — and what a start it’s been! We’ve had a fantastic turnout so far, but we’d love to see even more of you getting involved. To help ease any nerves, a few of our XC regulars have put together a brilliant Cross Country Guide to bust some common myths and get you ready for race day. We’ve already had great feedback (and if you haven’t read it yet… where have you been?), but seriously — it’s well worth a read! *Please see a link here for the Cross Country guide!* Finally, a huge congratulations to everyone who’s already been out there flying the flag for the club. We know it takes real dedication to spend your Saturday trekking across London up muddy hills, and we truly appreciate the effort. Let’s keep the momentum (and the mud) going! Take the smiles of the people in these pictures as a sign to turn up to your first cross country!! We wouldn't have smiley Chasers if XC was that bad. ;) Here are some upcoming dates to get you inspired.  Saturday 1st November: Eastbrookend Chingford League  Saturday 15th November: Horsenden Hill Met League Saturday 22nd November: Trent park Chingford League  Please check the Chaser calendar here for the dates and sign up information.   Race Shout outs   Huge well done to all Chasers who took part in the Cabbage Patch 10 mile race last Sunday. There was around 42 Chasers who took the the streets of Twickenham, what a turnout! Big shoutout to our new club champs Chris who was the first male Chaser and Izzy who was the first female Chaser. Well done all! Massive well done to David Powers for getting his Super Half medal. If you’ve been regular reader to this newsletter then you will know David has been smashing out the half marathons every week. After completing Valencia today he has now completed the full set on the Super Half’s across Copenhagen, Berlin, Prague, Lisbon, Valencia, Cardiff.  Big shout out to one of the newsletter authors and my partner in crime Emily Martyn. Emily completed the Great South Run. Even in the wet and cold Emily still managed to smash a PB. What a legend.  Big well done to Susan for completing the Chicago Marathon. Susan was one of the Chaser dream team members who took on Chicago.  Congrats to Rosie and Romany for taking part in the Epping Forest half!  Do send us pictures if you would like a shout out for any upcoming races (newsletter@chasers.me), and we always love to receive a race report!
