Spring is Here
The sun is out, leaves are appearing on the trees and Chasers can be spotted running around the heath. What a glorious time of year. If you fancy giving your running drawer a bit of a spring refresh come to the Talacre this Tuesday where the annual kit swap is taking place. Expect some fresh Contra garms and unwanted race t shirts. Word on the street is that there could well be a fashion show on the night. Stay tuned!
I’ve got my eye on one of those St Neots shirts with the zombie hand on the front. What are you hoping for?
Who’s Racing
Well done to everyone who raced last weekend. Chasers were speeding through the streets of Paris, Brighton and London. Great effort folks. Big shout out to the SEAA relay teams who represented the club so well last weekend
It’s a quiet weekend where the only competition will be who can scoff the most Easter Eggs but next week is the start of a busy time for the Mornington Chasers. Enjoy your taper marathon runners, you have deserved it, try to calm the maranoia and get ready for your victory lap! (victory laps in the case of Sarah Funderburk who will be doing about a million in a couple of weeks)
AGM
The AGM will be held on Monday 22nd May at 7pm, Upstairs @ The Pineapple 51 Leverton St, Kentish Town, London, NW5 2NX. All club members welcome. A Thai buffet will be provided after the meeting.
Among other things, the AGM is where we elect the club committee each year. Any club member can stand for any role on the committee in the coming year, but we are particularly interested in filling the roles of Chair, secretary, webmaster and newsletter.
There are also two new roles we would like to fill.
Regent’s Park 10k co-ordinator: The person in this role will be responsible for liaison with the Race Organiser (the business which runs the RP10k for the club). They will also work with our social media secretary and webmaster to improve the promotion and advertising for the race series in order to increase the number of runners participating in the event.
Equality, Diversity and Inclusion: This person will lead on equalities issues for the club, including efforts to increase participation in the club by underrepresented groups.
If you are interested in joining the committee in any role please let Alice know in advance at <alice.sullivan@ucl.ac.uk>. If you would like to find out more about a particular role feel free to get in touch with the current committee members. The full list is here.
