Dear Chasers, Lauren Longhurst and I are organising a kit swap at Tuesday Talacre on 11th April. It’s a lovely, sustainable way to pass on or acquire kit for free.
Bring in good condition wearable running gear you’re happy to pass on. Take running gear you’re happy to wear! Start spring summer 23 with a fresh new look. You can take any kit you like for free and you don’t need to bring some to get some.
We will also be collecting voluntary (not compulsory) contributions which will be spread across the charities of any Chasers raising money in a spring marathon this year.
Big shout out to all the Chasers taking part in races this weekend.
Good Luck Tony Him, remember if you want to make Tony run faster you can donate to his page here
Bonne Chance to Sam and Stephanie’s dad at the Paris Marathon. Best of luck weaving your way around the bin bags and the tear gas cannisters.
Large up the speedy men and women smashing the relays on Sunday. Shout out to the Chaser Dudes Donal, Jonno, Marc, Daniele, Paul, Rory, Chris, Darren, David, Andy, Jamie and Liam as well as our Fierce Ladies Janine, Jennifer, Collette, Sarah Thunderbolt, Juliette, Liz, Jade, Alice, Lydia, Sophie and Kat!
Good Luck to Marcos representing in (looking it up) Slovakia!
We are getting rid to smash that Strava Kudos!
This was posted on Facebook today but it’s worth repeating,
💚🧡Friday post of appreciation 💚🧡
Today is the final day of the current athletic year, so a shout-out to Romany O'Dell who has led our Beginners programme for this full athletic year - and to the volunteers and improvers leaders. Here's the feedback from participants:
'I LOVED the beginners running class! Romany was an amazing leader - incredibly encouraging and just a joy to be around, which made showing up on cold January evenings enjoyable'
'The beginners group was kind and social. Romany was a great leader and the transition to Phil's group has been smooth and thoughtful'
'Nick, Sophie and Eamon are worth their weight in gold - they have been so supportive'
'The club should pat itself on the back for creating such a great opportunity for all walks of life'
Getting this feedback into my inbox was all such a joy to read. Massive thanks to Romany O'Dell, Eamon Byrne, Sophie Fenner, Nick Claydon, Phil West - and anyone else who helped to continue the fabulous work of this programme - not least all the Beginners who are now fully fledged members of our wonderful club
What do you like to listen to when you’re running? The seminal film ‘Dance Craze’ has just been re released and the soundtrack is immense. It’s a perfect soundtrack for pounding the pavements on your Sunday long run. Check it out
