Drinks Station
Well done to everyone who bagged themselves a spot volunteering at the London Marathon elite drinks station. Places went like hot cakes. If you were too slow your services are still required at the Chasers Cheer Station at mile 13 and a bit where we will bring the noise for all runners wearing Chaser colours on the day (not the northerners wearing the fake chaser vests though)
Regent’s Park Volunteering
The last Regent’s Park 10k takes place on the 5th of March and we still need some volunteers to marshal. Information and sign up is here.
Paddock Wood Half Marathon
Places are still available for the Paddock Wood Half Marathon on Sunday 12th March. Information, sign up details and putting your name down for the coach is here.
SEAA 12 Stage Road Relays
Venue has been confirmed as the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. Sign up here for men and for women here. I encourage men to sign up for the team so I don’t have to let the side down.

Met League 2022/23 Winners!!! 🏆🏆🏆
Our Mornington Chasers Senior Women team won the league!!! If you look closely an actual trophy can be seen in the picture (visual clues have been added to help!).
It has been tight at the top all season with competition from Thames Valley Harriers (not winners) and Harrow AC (also not winners) pushing for the title. A strong final 2 races of the season gave us a healthy 50-point lead in the final table.
Celebrations continued well past 5 pm as hot drinks, sandwiches and other refreshments were very kindly provided by Barnet in a nearby clubhouse. A crowd of 2 Chasers (is 2 a crowd?) had stayed to watch the victorious women hold the trophy aloft (slightly above waist height, very politely). Juliette and Fiona then took turns filling the trophy with Champagne and downing it while dancing on the tables, swinging their Chaser vests in the air, throwing safety pins everywhere and belting out Queen’s “We Are The Champions” much to the delight of the Chaser two (this may or may not have happened, we unfortunately have no footage). Celebrations had ceased by 5:30 pm as there were no more hot drinks.
This presumably means promotion to Division 2, but in all honesty I don’t know exactly how it works so watch this space…..
Individually we had 3 women finish the season in the top 100 across all leagues. Well done to everyone that competed across the season and won valuable points for the club -
Juliette Westbrook (45th), Fiona Russell (60th), Cloudy Carnegie (96th), Rafaele Lamour, Lauren Longhurst, Fiona Carr, Collette Farnol, Elizabeth Aryeetey, Maki Kimura, Anne Caspi, Mabel Ellerker, Emily Martyn, Carmen Harrington.
Oh and the Senior Men came 8th - which considering most weeks we only had half a team, it is the most we could hope for. We’ll try and push for the European places next season or just focus on a decent FA Cup run.
Well done to - Andy Davies, Rory Clark, Daniel Berry, Daniel Lewis, Eamon Byrne, Gary Homewood, Simon Fitzmaurice, Jonathan Thomson.
Hopefully we can convince more people to take part next year, it really is a lot of fun and anyone can take part. Plus it didn’t rain once this season and the mud wasn’t even that bad, only ankle deep!
National XC Champs - Cheshire - 25th February
The Nationals take part this Saturday in Chester, with 6 Chasers taking part and over 2700 people entered across the senior races. Good luck to Lauren Longhurst, Juliette Westbrook, Rory Clark, Andy Davies, Daniel Lewis, Paul Simons.
The women’s race starts at 1:35 pm and the men’s at 3:00 pm - luckily both are being live streamed and can be watched here (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RSTPsN9_5KQ).
Chingford League- Wanstead Flats XC Relays - 11th March
The final event in the Chingford League are the XC relays which are 4x3000m. Anyone can sign-up and take part and they are completely free and 3000m isn’t that scary. Please sign-up by 5th March. It would be great to have both women’s and men’s teams, and more than one of each if possible!
More details can be seen on the calendar event on the website.
Sunday XC League - Fixture 5 - Royston - 12th March
Busy on the 11th and can’t make the Chingford League relays - fear not! The final Sunday League fixture takes place on 12th March. Anyone can sign-up and take part and they are completely free.
More details can be seen on the calendar event on the website.

Hello people!
I'm running the London Marathon 23rd April 2023 in support of BlindAid and would really appreciate any donations!
BlindAid has over 185 years of experience of delivering emotional and practical support to blind and visually impaired people living in the 12 inner London Boroughs and the City of London. Over the last 188 years, BlindAid have supported well over two million Londoners.
BlindAid give people the time they need to come to terms with the loss of their sight and develop the coping strategies they need to thrive. The services are not time bound, but based on each user’s specific needs. While some service users only need a gentle hand on their journey to independence, others need consistent support.
