The Road to St Neot’s 9 weeks and 2 days to go to the St Neot’s Half Marathon. Together with the Cabbage Patch 10 they are the club’s target races for the rest of the year. Sarah has put together a great training plan for both races including cross country races. If you haven’t signed up already, get involved! Chingford League – Dagenham The next cross country race in the Chingford League takes place on Sunday 1st October in Dagenham. The deadline for sign up is this Sunday the 25th of September. Southern Athletics League Well done all who took park in this year’s fixtures for the Southern Athletics League. Mornington Chasers finished top of the group. Campeones, Campeones, ole, ole, ole. Sarah’s Words of Wisdom Marathon tip #10: Enjoy the simple things For many of you, you will be approaching taper time this week and next. As your runs start to ease up, you'll wonder why everything feels harder rather than easier. You'll be convinced that you have come down with COVID for the 4th time. You'll be positive that a new part or every part of your body is falling apart with each run. Yes, folks, this is the beginning of maranoia. You're just entering this phase and it will peak sometime in the next 10 days or so. So what do you do? Take a deep breath to calm yourself and look for some distractions to make you smile. You're going to be fine. Your training is there. Watch a funny movie. Go for a walk with friends. Stay updated on Rendy, Liam and Matt's adventures. What IS Matt up to now? Can these 3 please have their own reality show? I think we are all invested enough in this to distract us from maranoia. London Marathon Cheer Squad Chasers cheer squad assemble!
