Marathon Drinks Station
Date: Sun 2 October 2022
Time: 07:00
Every year, the Mornington Chasers organise one of the elite drinks tables at the London Marathon. We need Chasers to volunteer to help out between 7am and around 11am/12pm on the day. We'll be based just before Tower Bridge. It's an early start but lots of fun and a unique perspective on this amazing event.
Volunteers will need to register online (with a passport-style photo). Once your place is confirmed, Lizzy will send you a link

Sarah's Words of Wisdom
Marathon tip #....I miscounted and lost count a few times, but it's actually 8: Don't get hung up on numbers
Marathon training involves a lot of numbers. How many miles/km are you running this weekend? How many miles/km have you run this week? What pace are you running that rep at? How many hours did you sleep? How many gels did you take? How many cinnamon buns did you consume? Numbers can be your friend for reassurance, but they can also be a taunting foe. If you find that the numbers are starting to troll you, go back to basics and ask yourself, "How do I feel?" Pretty much all of the aforementioned questions can be answered instead by thinking about how you felt at the time or felt afterwards rather than focusing on the number. Do I feel like having a nap and another cinnamon bun today? Yes...yes I do.
