Well done to everyone who raced last weekend. There was a fantastic Talacre of Chasers that journeyed up to Edinburgh for the marathon there. Congratulations to everyone who ran and to all those who cheered.
Welcome new committee members
Thank you to those who attended the Annual General Meeting on Monday. We can unveil two new signings to the committee, welcome Ellie Holloway and Jodie Pearlman who will no doubt do a sterling job leading the line organising social events for the club. Henry Woodward has departed the role and we thank him for his efforts particularly for last year’s Christmas Party.
Henry will be helping Rebecca with the kits.
Congratulations to David Nelson who has been given lifetime membership. Thank you for all your efforts.

Summer League
It’s been a long time since we have had a full set of normal summer league fixtures. Summer League is a series of 5 races across London of either 5 miles or 10 kilometres followed by picnic and, for those selected, relays where you will be cheered by your fellow chasers against our London rivals.
The first fixture is on 19th June at Headstone Manor in Harrow. Please sign up here so we can gauge interest and possibly look into getting a coach if it’s a mission.
Golden Stag
Well done to Rob for pulling the Golden Stag from the brink when it looked like it wasn’t going to happen. Keep the 22nd of July free in your diaries!
Race Report - Emily Morgan
An ode to the Edinburgh Marathon, dedicated to the spectacular chasers who travelled 15.3 marathons (that’s 401 miles) to spectate!
-
Edinburgh Marathon 2022, three years in the making for some.
Diligent long runs, ticked off like homework, Dollis Valley, Greenwich & Kew.
Inches away from the starting gun, staring in horror at the endless Porto-loo queue.
No time for an emergency wee! Is there a bush?
Bubbling with energy & nerves, are my laces too tight? Oh no, my trail vest’s too front heavy, bounce bounce bounce…
Ubiquitous cheers and start line selfies.
Ready, steady
Go
Hooray we’re off!
Mile 2, we’re running (or positively sprinting) down the historic Royal Mile. Our first spectator in sight, Liam & it’s nothing but elation, smiles and joy.
Andy, hello! My first chaser sighting. An enthusiastic wave as we loop around Arthur’s Seat.
Running ‘better than Scot Rail’ a poster declared, as we descended into Portobello & caught our first glimpse of the sea.
At mile 6, our second spectator, Fin on a bike!
Through to mile 12, where we’re greeted with thunderous cheers. The best support squad in history, a team of chasers!
Halfway now. 13.1 miles to go. Feeling good. 14,15,16, starting to dwindle. 17, loosing the plot. Why did we do this? 18. Soul searching. Where’s that hero inside of me at? 19, 20, the mental half way point. The final 10km. Just a Tuesday run. Or two park runs? Chasing the finish line. Thoughts of sticky toffee pudding. Slow, steady, call me Tommy. 23.5, a second emotional cheer from the chasers to get us over the finish line!
Ouch.
Now to the pub!
Enjoy the long weekend!
