Trent Park
This Saturday all roads lead to Trent Park for the 5th and last instalment of the Met League for this season. All details are online here. Spikes are highly recommended for the anticipated copious amount of mud in store. All members are welcome, be aware that all entries must be completed by lunchtime on the day.
I understand that nobody has grabbed Rob to volunteer so if you have some spare time on Saturday, please make sure to give him a shout. He would be most grateful.
Start times are as follows:
1:30 – Women
2:30 – Men
Parliament Hill Nationals
The English National Cross Country Championships are returning to London for the first time since 2018 and will be taking place on Hampstead Heath on Saturday, 26 February. This will be by far the largest cross country competition taking place in the UK this season with close to 10,000 entrants across 10 races. It’s always a terrific spectacle. The National is a volunteer organised competition with course marshals coming from clubs throughout London and the wider area. Some 40 marshals are needed to cover the many footpaths that cross Hampstead Heath. Would anybody like to get involved?
Marshals will need to be available between 9.45am and the end of the competition, which is expected to be at about 4.30pm (a lunch pack will be provided). Marshals will get to see many of the UK’s finest endurance runners in action throughout the age groups, along with a host of club runners from across the country.
If you would like to volunteer, please can you email Malcolm French on malcolmfrench1962@yahoo.com and he’ll be able to provide you with further information.
Wokingham Half Marathon
Entries for this years race have now sold out. It looks to be a terrific race. It’s a bit of a schlep, how are you getting there? If you have yet to make plans leave a comment on the Facebook group.
Regent’s Park 10k March 6
The next Regent’s Park 10k race is on Sunday March 6th. You can sign up here
Sri Chimnoy Races
Last year a Talacre of Chasers ventured South of the River for the Sri Chimnoy 5k race. It’s well organized, a good course and cheap as chips at £6 a pop.
A few of us are going to do the ‘Speedy Steeds’ on 7th of June. Get involved here
