Masks    That lurgy is still hanging around. Until it settles down a bit please could you wear a mask when you’re inside the Talacre as well as the indoor bit of the track. If you’re concerned that you will be unrecognizable just say your name when you speak to people or wear a nametag.   Regents Park 10k   We’re looking for marshals for the February and March races. By volunteering you're helping the club raise money and you get free entry to the other race. It's also a great way to meet other club members. Marshalling duties range from handing out race numbers to handling the bag drop or standing along the course to ensure people don't get lost. Sign up here for February and here for March   Wormwood Scrubs Cross Country   On Saturday 15th the next stop on the cross country tour is Wormwood Scrubs. The ladies race starts at 1:30 and the mens at 2:30. Details are in the calendar below. Note that if you love the mud you’re in for a treat as it’s due to be a proper mudfest. Make sure you dress appropriately and wear spikes   Track Session this week is as follows: 2 (beginner) or 3-4 x {800m (10k pace) [400m jog recovery]+400m (5k pace) [400m jog recovery]} Total 3600-4800m hard, 2400-3200 recover. Please sign up via the calendar.   Karl Baddeley   This is a message from John:   We were shocked and saddened to learn that Karl Baddeley, who ran with the club in 2015 and 2016 died suddenly on January 4.       Although Karl was only in the club for a short time, he made a big impact. He’s probably best known to newer members for starting our regular beer mile. If you don’t know what that is, it’s a 1 mile race where you have to down a can of beer every lap. Karl organized our first beer mile in Feb 2016 as a farewell before leaving for a new job in Sydney, and up until lockdown we held a beer mile every year in February in his honour. Another lasting contribution he made was to buy the Cookie Monster outfit regularly used by marshals on our Regent’s Park 10K. He was also elected to the committee as social secretary, although he only served three months in the role due to his new job in Australia, he still had time to organize a superb Christmas party. But despite all his volunteering, he is probably mostly remembered by those who were in the club with him just for being one of the friendliest and nicest guys you could hope to meet.       We don’t have much information other than that Karl collapsed suddenly.  There is a Facebook group you can follow and where you can post your own memories. If you contact John Armstrong at john.armstrong@kcl.ac.uk he will try to pass on any further information we may receive.       Our thoughts are with Karl’s friends and family.     Calendar Here's whats happening over the next few weeks other than our usual Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday runs.
