National Lockdown Welfare Update Following the PM’s announcement last night, we are still permitted to run with one other person from outside of our household or bubble.  You will still be able to use the Chaser calendar to arrange runs with others, though we acknowledge that this lockdown is designed to minimise social contact, so we would encourage you to be thoughtful about the number of running buddies you have during this time.  If you have symptoms, please do not run with other Chasers.  If you test positive for Coronavirus, please let our Welfare Officer Laurie know (welfare@chaser.me.uk), and also anyone that you recently ran with.   Speeding up for Spring Happy 2021! Although things aren’t still quite how we wish they could be (darn you, COVID!), it doesn’t mean we can’t start focusing on our training. The Speeding up for Spring schedule (click here) is a 14-week plan to do just that, start getting speedier for eventual Spring races (fingers crossed!). We have posted the first 8 weeks of the schedule, targeting a mile time trial at Parliament Hill.  You will have to wait and see what we have in store for you for the final 6 weeks 🙂 Although the track sessions in the full schedule have some shorter distances in mind, the schedule will also be suitable for those thinking about a spring half marathon. Enjoy and happy running! For this Thursday, if doing a time-based session is easier for you to plan, you can do the following: warm-up, 10x {25s (1mi pace) [1 min jog recovery]), cool down I will also be posting an alternate updated schedule later this week with all time-based Thursday sessions.  Sarah Beginners 0-5k Programme This course is on hold until such time as we’re legally permitted to run in groups of at least 6 people.  We are still taking registrations to our waiving list here Please note that this course is specifically a 0k to 5k course and is not the primary entry point to the club.  If you’re just interested in joining, please see joining details on our website.
