VeloPark 10 Mile by Mornington Chasers.
Thank you to everybody who took part in, or helped with, the VeloPark 10 Mile. We had an incredible turn out of Chasers, and an even more incredible turn out of twenty volunteers. Every where you looked, there was a Chaser! Congratulations to all the athletes, we had plenty of PBs despite the challenging course. Particular congratulations to our new club champions Janine and Russ! Full results and photos are available here: https://www.chaser.me.uk/sm/newsfeed.php.
Missing Results from Newsletter?
If you ran the VeloPark race and your results aren't also listed below then that means that our website isn't able to automatically pick up your results yet. It can only do this if your results are on The Power of 10, so if you would like your results to be included in our newsletter the first thing to do is to contact The Power of 10 and make sure they are recording your results. Once that is done, fingers crossed and they will turn up in the newsletter. Occasionally you also need to give our website a helping hand by telling it what your ID is for the power of 10. To do this see the "Race Results" section of your Mornington Chasers account on our website.
Beginners Couch-to-5K and temporary membership.
Thank you to all Chaser's who are directing your friends and family to our Beginners course. A reminder that our Beginner's course is specifically for those who cannot yet run a 5K.
Each Beginner's course starts at a very basic and accessible level, similar to the NHS couch-to-5K, so please only sign up if this describes your running capability.
Sometimes people mistakenly sign up to Beginners because they think it means 'new members', it is only for people who cannot run 5K. If you're just generally interested in becoming a new member, please contact our Membership Officer, Russ at membership@chaser.me.uk to join the club at £30 per year, or sample temporary membership at £5 per month.
We currently have 3 beginner groups well under way, two at Wk 8 and one Wk6. We will definitely have new courses in January and possibly in November. November courses are dependent on the availability of LiRF training for new leaders; England Athletics has currently postponed the course dates. The (potential) November course is already full, but we are taking registrations for January. January registrations are also filling up, so if you know someone who might be interested, please direct them here to sign up now for a place on the waiting list. Each Beginner's course costs £10. Sign here: https://www.chaser.me.uk/training/beginner.php
If you have any questions about either our beginner's course or our membership, temporary or otherwise, please email our Beginner's Leader, Laurie at beginners@chaser.me.uk or our Membership Officer, Russ at membership@chaser.me.uk
