Coaching
After several years loyal service to the club Chris Zair has stepped down as our Coaching Coordinator as he is leaving London and moving to Barcelona. I’m sure everyone would like to thank him for everything he has done for the club, and will (somewhat enviously) wish him well in Barcelona.
John Armstrong will be taking over Chris’ role. If you are interested in helping with coaching at the club, you can email John at coaching@chaser.me.uk. All coaching in the club is done by volunteers, and the club is happy to pay for anyone interested in volunteering as a coach to obtain England Athletics certification. The first qualification is a one day course called Leader in Running Fitness (LIRF), the more advanced qualification is a course called Coach in Running Fitness (CIRF) which takes a few weekends and some homework. You can see when courses are available here and should mail John if you are interested.
Extraordinary General Meeting
There will be a brief extraordinary general meeting held on 17th March at 19:15 at Talacre before the usual Tuesday runs. The first matter to be voted on is whether to insert the words “or Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM)” into rule 3(c) so it reads, “Honorary life membership of the Club may be conferred upon any member by a majority vote of those senior members present at an Annual General Meeting (AGM) or Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) in recognition of someone who has performed an outstanding service, or who has made an outstanding contribution to the Club.” The second matter to be voted on will be whether to award lifetime membership to Chris Zair.
