The Capital Ring Well done Simon Fitzmaurice on achieving the fastest known self-supported time for The Capital Ring on Sunday 7th April 2019! This consists of 75.12 miles from Stratford to Stratford, passing the Woolwich Foot Tunnel, Beckenham Palace, Crystal Palace, Richmond Park, Brent Reservoir, Parkland Walk and Old Ford Lock. Full information on the route can be found here: (https://tfl.gov.uk/modes/walking/capital-ring) Simon’s overall time was 17hrs 02min 32sec.   London Marathon Please let Sam Blackburn know if you are planning to help set up the Chasers Cheering station at mile 22 for London Marathon day on April 28th. Details available here, we need people to arrive at 8am to get our usual spot. You can also come along any time later in the day to lend your cheers and support to our runners, it is always lots of fun and greatly appreciated by all. The post-marathon celebration is upstairs at The Pineapple pub.   Volunteers Needed For Beginners Programme The next beginners programme will start on Tuesday 7th May.  Our beginners programme is for those new to running, or returning after a break. The aim of the programme is to gradually build your running fitness until you feel ready to progress to our main club runs and training sessions. Please share this date with family and friends who might be interested and encourage them to register here. Please do not join the beginners programme if you can already run 5km, come for a taster session at one of our standard or intermediate Tuesday Runs instead. In the early weeks of the beginners programme, we always need at least one extra volunteer so that we can top and tail the running group.  Please let Laurie know if you would like to help out on any Tuesday throughout May and June.   Summer League Summer league dates for 2019 are now in the calendar below. For those who haven’t run this before, it is a fun and friendly league between the Chasers and several other London clubs (see details here). There will be free coach travel available from Talacre to and from the other club venues. The events also include relay races and kids races, and a picnic by the host club.   Supporting Charities If you're taking part in any running event on a charity place, or are making the most of a Chaser event place by raising money for a good cause, then let us know and we'll promote your giving page in our newsletter.
