21 March 2019

Next Beginners Programme The next MCRC beginners programme will start on Tuesday 7th May.  Our beginners programme is for those new to running, or returning after a break. The aim of the programme is to gradually build your running fitness until you feel ready to progress to our main club runs and training sessions. Please share this date with family and friends who might be interested and encourage them to register here. Please do not join the beginners programme if you can already run 5km, come for a taster session at one of our standard or intermediate Tuesday Runs instead.  Volunteers Needed In the early weeks of the beginners programme, we always need at least one extra volunteer so that we can top and tail the running group.  Please let Laurie know if you would like to help out on any Tuesday throughout May and June. Hampstead Heath Parkrun To celebrate the success of our most recent beginners course Chasers will be running Hampstead Heath parkrun on Saturday 30th. Everyone is welcome to join! Summer League Summer league dates for 2019 are now in the calendar below. For those who haven’t run this before, it is a fun and friendly league between the Chasers and several other London clubs (see details here). There will be free coach travel available from Talacre to and from the other club venues. The events also include relay races and kids races, and a picnic by the host club. Kit A reminder to new members that you get one club vest included in the price of your initial membership. This can be picked up in person after Tuesday runs at Talacre. Please ask Lola Akingbola, Fiona Carr, one of the club captains (the friendly folks that announce the runs at the start of our Tuesday sessions), or other committee member who can help. We have lots of other fantastic Chasers kit available for purchase in our store. You can buy additional vests, ladies crop tops, T-shirts, and hoodies. We also have triathlon suits, currently available for £55 (previously £90) so get those while you can! All purchased items must be picked up on Tuesdays. We cannot deliver items. It’s good to let us know in advance via the Facebook page or email if you plan to be there to pick up an item, to make sure someone is available that evening to help. Please show your paypal receipt (a screenshot is fine!).   Supporting Charities If you're taking part in any running event on a charity place, or are making the most of a Chaser event place by raising money for a good cause, then let us know and we'll promote your giving page in our newsletter.
