Beer Mile We had strength in depth in the women’s field in this year’s Karl Baddeley Memorial Beer Mile with all three female finishers beating the previous club record. The women’s race was won in a time of 11:41 by new member Lara Gilman. John Armstrong led the men’s field with a time of 8:21. For those who are not familiar with the rules, in a beer mile you must drink a can of beer, run 400m and repeat this four times (+9m to make it a mile). We raised a total of £435 for Chalk Farm foodbank. Thank you to everyone who donated. Thanks also to Sam Blackburn for organizing and to Laurie Boult, Louise McCormick, Stephen Nash and Alice Sullivan for officiating. Full results below.   Kit A reminder to new members that you get one club vest included in the price of your initial membership. This can be picked up in person after Tuesday runs at Talacre. Please ask Lola Akingbola, Fiona Carr, one of the club captains (the friendly folks that announce the runs at the start of our Tuesday sessions), or other committee member who can help. We have lots of other fantastic Chasers kit available for purchase in our store. You can buy additional vests, ladies crop tops, T-shirts, and hoodies. We also have triathlon suits, currently available for £55 (previously £90) so get those while you can! All purchased items must be picked up on Tuesdays. We cannot deliver items. It’s good to let us know in advance via the Facebook page or email if you plan to be there to pick up an item, to make sure someone is available that evening to help. Please show your paypal receipt (a screenshot is fine, no need to print). Southern Athletics League Spring is on the way which means it will soon be time for the Southern Athletics league! Fixtures are listed in the calendar and more information including timetables can be found here. All are welcome to take part and earn points for the team, and it’s a great way to test your speed or to try some new field events. Following the success of the collaboration last year we are again teaming up with Highgate Harriers. Get in touch with Lauren if you have any questions. Tuesday runs A reminder to all that anyone can lead a run of any distance and at any pace that they like on Tuesdays. No special expertise is required, you just need to have a route in mind! If you want some route inspiration we have some great suggestions here.   Supporting Charities If you're taking part in any running event on a charity place, or are making the most of a Chaser event place by raising money for a good cause, then let us know and we'll promote your giving page in our newsletter.
