Beer Mile Our club annual beer mile is on Thursday 28th at Regents park track (no track training session scheduled that day), so sign up and make your donation soon if you would like to take part! The beer mile, for those who don’t know, involves running a mile and drinking beer, ideally as fast as you can. Specifically this means running 4x400m laps and drinking a can of beer at the start of each lap. The beer must be 5% and at least 355 ml. There is a 10m transition zone in which to drink the beer. Non-alcoholic fizzy beverages can be consumed instead (but won’t count towards the club record). Beer will be provided, and we will ask you to make a donation to charity if you would like to participate. You can either raise money through sponsorship, or donate £10 directly. Last year we raised £250 for the Camden based C4WS Homeless Project. This year our nominated charity is the Chalk Farm Foodbank. Donations should be made here: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/chasersmile2019 We need volunteers to help out so if you don’t fancy competing but can help on the day let us know. More details and link to the full international beer mile rules are available via the sign up link in the calendar below.   Met League Well done to Fiona Russell and Mike Hurford who were first chasers to finish in the Met League final fixture at Ally Pally on Saturday. Overall in the league, the senior women finished 7th/25 teams and the senior men finished 14th/27 teams both in division 3. The vet women finished 6th/10 in division 2 and the vet men finished 5th/23 in division 3. Well done to all who took part this year through heat, hail, rivers, and mud! A big thank you to Anne Caspi and Rafaele Lamour for our XC admin and organisation. This year we are also signed up to the Chingford league (a mix of tarmac and XC races) which will start in September!   Calendar Here's whats happening over the next few weeks other than our usual Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday runs.
