This is a trail event, taking place in the Lake District with a choice of 5, 10 and 18k races. The (very) rough plan would be to head up to the Lake District on the Thursday or Friday, stay in a cottage/B&B, race on the Sunday and head back on the Sunday, with various other activities in between.
You can now reserve your place on the event page on the website https://www.chaser.me.uk/news/buy.php?id=57! Places will be limited, so sign up as soon as possible to guarantee your place. The total cost is £150 per person, with a £50 deposit required now. Any questions, please ask Dave Nelson.
Race Report Met League Uxbridge
Uxbridge had everything a human could want out of a cross country race - a former ski slope to run up (twice), a knee deep river to wade through (twice) and enough mud to keep us happy until January. Well done to Fiona Russell and John Armstrong as first Chasers. Watching the men run through the river was just as enjoyable as running through it ourselves, and methods varied widely: some people jumped right in while others tentatively stepped in, and one man face-planted after attempting to do some sort of long jump over it. There were actually a lot of people falling flat on their faces and plenty of people regretting not bringing a spare pair of underpants. There was plenty of competition in the men's V70 category and one V80 competitor. That marks the end of six weeks of XC racing in a row, so those of you who missed out need to check the calendar and put January's races in your diaries. – Carmen Harrington
