Hampstead Heath Parkrun Takeover
This Saturday (31st March), Mornington Chasers will be taking over Hampstead Heath Parkrun. This is a great opportunity for the club to give something back to the local community as well hopefully promoting the club. We'll be providing all the marshals, timers etc. for the event and so it would be great to get some volunteers for this (see link below if you are interested).
Summer Athletics
This year we have teamed up with Highgate Harriers for the Southern Athletics League. We will be having an Athletics taster session on Saturday 7th March for anyone who wants to come down and give it a try. The first athletics event will be on Saturday 14 April at Perivale (see link below). If you would like any more information on this please speak to Lauren Longhurst, or if you just post on FB someone should respond.
Volunteer of the month
Mornington Chasers is run entirely by volunteers. People help out in a wide variety of ways- designing and maintaining the website (thanks John Armstrong), putting together and delivering track sessions (thanks coaching team), delivering the beginners programme (thanks Jenny Moore ‍♀️)...I could go on.... The club wouldn't exist without volunteers. This is why we want to celebrate by launching Volunteer Of The Month (VOTM). Once a month someone who has helped out the club will receive a prize. You can be in with a chance to be VOTM by doing Tuesday Tea, helping out beginners, marshalling at upcoming summer league races etc. VOTM for March is Anne Caspi.🥇Without Anne, there would have been no cross country over the past few months. She is also run director for the upcoming Chasers parkrun takeover this weekend. Thanks Anne.
Coaching update
Congratulations to Jenny Moore, Lauren Longhurst and Dave Nelson who have recently qualified as 'Leaders in Running Fitness' with England Athletics, as well as Chris Zair who has qualified as a 'Coach in Running Fitness'.
If you're interested in developing your coaching within the Mornington Chasers and get a coaching qualification, get in touch with Chris directly.

Alice Sullivan will be running the London Marathon and is raising funds for The Eve Appeal, which supports research on gynaecological cancers click here to donate.
