6 November 2017

Transport to St Neots Emma has organised a bus to take everyone to St Neots in time for the half marathon. Please sign up here to secure your place. Cross Country The North of the Thames Cross Country was held at Fryent Country Park, Kingsbury.  It was a lovely warm day and the course was fairly dry.  A small Chasers team entered for this event and congratulations to Lauren Longhurst who came 10th in her first ever cross country. Lots of cake consumed by all but we would love to have more club members to join us for the run and to finish off the cake! With that being said, the next Met League fixture will take place at Welwyn Garden City this Saturday the 11th of November. The races will take place just before 2pm for women and 2:35pm for men. You do not need to sign up beforehand as it is part of the Met League- just turn up on the day. Trains run from Kings Cross & Finsbury Park every 20 minutes and take approx. 30 minutes. The Met League is a lot of fun with a friendly atmosphere so it’s a great one to start off with if you’ve never done cross country before. Spikes are recommended but you will get away with trail shoes. AGM Next Week The club AGM will take place on Monday the 13th of November at 7pm in the Grafton pub. Anyone is welcome to stand for any role, but we are particularly keen to attract new people for the following roles, as the incumbents are standing down. Feel free to contact the current incumbent if you’d like to know more about the role. Please let Alice know ahead of the AGM if you are planning to stand. Social Secretary: Organises pub nights, parties, cheese-feasts, etc. Welfare officer: Deals with any welfare issues and complaints. Newsletter: Puts together the weekly newsletter Dublin Marathon Well done to everyone who took part in the Dublin marathon- great efforts all round especially from Donal Moran who set a new club record for the MV40 category with a time of 2:47:50.
