Race Report- Orion Forest Five
A few Chasers ventured out to Epping Forest on Saturday for the last of the summer series of Orion 'Forest Five' trail races. The five mile course was scenic without being too demanding, and would be the perfect introduction to newbies to trail running (no special shoes required). A post-run bbq sausage back at the clubhouse was the perfect recovery snack. And though you may think Chingford is exotic territory, it is amazingly easy to get to on the overground from Kentish Town. Highly recommended, and we look forward to going back for more next year.- Alice

Volunteering Opportunities
A Mile in Her Shoes is looking for female volunteers to help lead their weekly running fitness groups for homeless women across London.
A volunteer taster day will take place on Saturday 19th August 10.30am – 12.30pm in London SE1 and is suitable for volunteers with absolutely all levels of running ability and experience. You can find further information here.
The groups they are looking for support with will take place weekly across London between September- December on a variety of days and times.
Royal Parks Half Marathon
The charity Autistica has 15 places remaining in this year’s Royal Parks Half Marathon. The registration deadline will be the 17th of August.
This is a popular half marathon which starts and finishes in Hyde Park, taking in St James’s Park, Green Park and Kensington Gardens. Along the way, runners and spectators alike have magnificent views of landmarks such as Buckingham Palace and the Houses of Parliament.
Autistica are asking each runner to pay just £5 towards the cost of their place and aim to raise £300 for Autistica. This will be perfectly achievable with the support of their fundraising team. The money raised by runners will help Autistica fund research to improve their understanding of autism, improve diagnosis and ensure autistic people have the chance to lead longer, healthier and happier lives. Contact Charlotte.Bignell@autistica.org.uk to sign up or for further information.
