Hampstead Heath Duathlon This year’s ‘pondathon’ will take place on Sunday 3 September.  “What’s a pondathon?” you may ask.  It involves swimming 3 lengths of Parliament Hill Lido, then a run up to the men’s pond, swimming a lap of that, running to the ladies’ pond, a swim round that, running over the heath to the mixed pond, swimming a lap, then running down to finish on Parliament Hill track! All good fun and you don’t need to be fast. It’s about 5K of running in total.   We can enter 2 teams of 3-5 people. The cost is £10 per person, payable on the day.  Sign up here before 28 July. Email Lizzy if you have any questions.  Summer League- Regents Park There was a great turnout of Chasers at yesterday’s Summer League race. We saw fantastic performances in the 10k with Craig and Hope being the first Chaser man and woman past the finish line. We were also well represented in the tenderfoot races and relays. Thanks to Dave Nelson for organising the event, to Jenny Moore for organising the picnic and to everyone who got up early on a Sunday morning to set up, marshal and/or make food for the picnic. The next Summer League fixture at Battersea isn’t until the 20th of August so you have plenty of time to rest before then. If you’re not interested in resting, take a look at the training schedule that has been put together to cover the next few weeks here. England Athletics Feature Following a recent visit to the club by England Athletics reps there is now a feature on Mornington Chasers on the England Athletics website. Read it here. Essex Way Relay There are still a number of spaces left for the Essex Way Relay. The event is a day long 10 person relay, mainly on off road paths from Epping to Harwich on the coast of Essex. Legs range from around 5-10 miles. The event is suitable for runners of any ability and you can run more than one leg of the race. Further information can be found here.  Calendar Here's whats happening over the next few weeks other than our usual Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday runs. You can find our full calendar on the website.
