Introducing your Welfare Officer, Myles Preston
This man has your welfare at heart.
From time to time welfare issues will arise in any club. If you ever need to raise any issues or ask any questions related to welfare (for example, to report an accident or inappropriate behaviour) you can contact our welfare officer in confidence at welfare@chaser.me.uk. If for any reason you would prefer to talk to someone else, for example if you would prefer to talk to a woman, then please just contact another committee member. A list of committee members can be found on our who’s who page.
Myles has put together some policies on social media and a formal grievance procedure so we’re ready in case any issues ever should arise. You can see them by logging into the club website and selecting “Club Policies”. They are currently draft documents, so please email welfare@chaser.me.uk with any comments.
Ever fancied yourself as a fashion designer?
The club needs to put an order in for new t-shirts. If you’d be willing to take charge of this, please contact Alice alice.sullivan@ucl.ac.uk
Summer League- Regents Park
We will be hosting the Summer League race in Regents Park on Sunday. We still need a few more volunteers to help out during the day. Sign up here or speak to Dave. Jenny is organising the picnic and has requested that members give an indication of what food you plan to bring by updating this document. If you can’t access the document you can let Jenny know directly – jennifer.l.moore.4@gmail.com
As with the other Summer League races, the 10k is open to all abilities and there will be tenderfoot races for children aged 15 and under.
Chasers save the day
It wasn’t enough for Nick, John, Simon, Lachlan and Stephen to run a hilly twelve miles across north London last Tuesday- they also stopped along the way to rescue a dog in trouble.
‘On the way a lady asked us whether we could help her very elderly dog get out of a muddy ditch that it was stuck in and we (mainly Simon) managed to pull her out. Wasn't a small dog either at over 10 stone!’ (That sounds more like a small horse.)
Tuesday Tea Volunteers
The Tuesday tea volunteer shortage has reached critical levels. It would be great if everyone volunteered to do this once per year and it’s an easy way to give back to the club.
