New-look Mornington Chasers club vests
We have changed the look of our club vest – the eagle-eyed will notice the tweaked Pantone colours (still green and orange, but more flattering shades) and the dashing, go-faster vertical design, the same as the club’s original vest design. The old vests are still fine to wear for races, but there’s a whole stack of new vests in all sizes if anyone wants to buy a new one. They are £13.67 – go to the Store page on the Mornington Chasers website where you can pay by paypal. Pick up the vest on a Tuesday night from Fiona Russell (kit secretary) or any committee member (just show your receipt). New members get a club vest absolutely FREE! Please show your membership receipt when you collect it. Happy racing in your new singlet.- Fiona
Events Officer role vacancy
Danielle Smreczak is stepping down as events secretary on the committee. A very big thank you from all at the club to Danielle for her efforts last year.
This means that the club needs someone to apply to take over the events role. The responsibilities are to make sure that the Summer League events are run smoothly; make sure that the club has a range of events through the year; and assist the social secretary in ensuring that Chasers are generally entertained throughout the year. If you are interested in standing for the role, please email Adrian before the 13th of Feb
Coached Sessions this week
Tuesday evening's coached session will build on our recent hill workouts with 3 x 8 mins of continuous up and down hills of around 200m up and 200m down. Preceded by warm up run from Talacre and active stretching drills. Open to all levels as this session is run at your own LT speed and is great for strength and endurance.
Thursday’s session will take place at Parliament Hill track. Details will be posted on the Facebook page later in the week.
Southern Cross Country Championships
Next Saturday I'll be at Hampstead Heath for the Cross Country handing out numbers and safety pins! Pre-booking was essential for this XC but it is a great event to watch and cheer team mates so please do come along even if you are not running. Cakes are always welcome! Please note that numbers are not transferable for this XC- Andrea
