Hampstead Heath Parkrun Takeover On Saturday [the 21st of Jan] Chasers are taking over Hampstead Heath parkrun. That means we're doing all the marshalling, timekeeping etc. The more club members we can get running it the better, so if you fancy a parkrun this weekend come and join us on the Heath. Remember to bring your barcode. Spring Training Schedules If you’re running the London or Brighton marathons, check out our online schedules.  If you’re not doing a marathon, but still want to join in the fun then why not come along to some of these events that are scheduled as marathon prep: Thames Meander Half Marathon, Gade Valley 20 Mile Marathon Training Run, Paddock Wood Half Marathon. Coached Sessions this week The coached session this Tuesday evening continues our month of hill work at Primrose Hill with a mix of threshold running and harder hills. These sessions are suitable for all levels as each person works to their own LT pace during the timescales. With endurance races coming up in the spring, the hill sessions are designed to build strength, power and endurance and, of course, boost your fitness levels. For anyone doing indoor track races please come along too and I'll give you a relevant hill workout. –Andrea Thursday’s track session will be at Parliament Hill. Details will be posted on the facebook page later in the week. Race report- Go Beyond Ultra: Country to Capital Ultra 45miles A well organised event starting from Wendover at 8.30am, winding through The Chiltern Hills and nearby towns before connecting with the Grand Union Canal past Hayes and into the finish in Paddington. The course was fairly flat, with a couple of short climbs in the early stages, mixed terrain with some good off-road initially and then a fair amount of canal plodding in the second half. The route isn't marked so requires some map work unless you're following someone who knows their way, rather than someone who you assume knows their way until that awkward moment you realise you're both 1/2 a mile off course! The first half is quite scenic, but second half isn't the most picturesque route, so you can focus on plodding along! In the end the route is only 42 miles, or 43 including the long-cut, and would be a good start for people looking to venture into ultra distances close to London. Finished in 6h42m and 61st out of 409, will be booking it in the diary for next year and eyeing up the 6hour mark!   Chris Zair Calendar Here's whats happening over the next few weeks other than our usual Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday runs.
