Beginners Programme
Our beginners programme is designed for those who can’t yet run 5K continuously. The next wave of the beginners programme will start on Tuesday 6th September so please spread the word! If you are interested in joining the band of club members who help to deliver the beginners programme, please contact Adrian Cathersides. You don’t need a coaching qualification to do this, but if you want to qualify, the club can help (see below).
Coaching qualifications
The club would like to build our capacity in coaching by encouraging members to qualify as Leader in Running Fitness and (for those who already have the LIRF qualification) Coach in Running Fitness. You can check out upcoming courses on the England Athletics website – there are courses coming up very soon on 10th September and 24th September. If you would like the club to consider paying for your qualification, please email Adrian Cathersides. For the club to pay, you simply need to outline the ways you will use the qualification for the benefit of the club as a volunteer – e.g. getting involved in Thursday sessions, helping with the beginners, leading runs on Tuesdays.
Committee Meeting Tonight
The next committee meeting takes place tonight, Monday 22 August in the upstairs room at The Grafton pub on Prince of Wales Road from 7pm. All members are welcome.
Coached sessions this week
Tuesday night’s coached session will be led by Andrea. Thursday’s session will be led by Urban at Parliament Hill track. Details will be posted on the Mornington Chasers Facebook page in advance for anyone unable to attend – Thursday’s sessions can also be found here.
Race Reports
If you have something to say about a race you’ve run or can recommend any upcoming races, please email newsletter@chaser.me.uk.
