AMENDMENTS AND APOLOGIES FOR ERRORS IN LAST WEEK’S RESULTS LISTINGS
Apologies to Neil Kirkham for incorrectly reporting his 5000m time at the Highgate Harriers open meeting; Neil ran a pb time of 16:56.7. And also apologies to Lizzy Muggeridge as her result was missed completely from the Summer League Battersea Park 10K where she ran in a pb time of 50:49.
CHOCOLATE MOUSSE CAKE TO CELEBRATE 10 YEARS AS A CHASER
This month Andrea celebrates 10 years as a member of Mornington Chasers and to mark the occasion she plans to bake and bring a chocolate mousse cake (like the one at the BBQ) to après run tea on Tuesday 29 September. Please join her after your runs and share cake!
CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS
This year our club championship race is being held 1 November at the Mornington Chasers Regent’s Park 10K. When you register, please include that you are a member of Mornington Chasers so that you are included in the championships results. Details, as always available in the events section www.chaser.me.uk/calendar If you are injured or recovering from another race, please consider volunteering as a marshal so that you can still be part of the day.
CLUB WINTER SERIES 10K in The Regent’s Park
This series of races in The Regent’s Park organised by Nice Work using our branding is our main source of funding for the club. Please volunteer to marshal at least one race per year, October to March. When you volunteer you also get free entry to another race in the series. Avril is gathering a list of volunteers or sign-up on the club website.
VELOPARK RELAYS
Greenwich Tritons are organising a team sprint duathlon relay race at the Velopark, 18 October. Four people per team, either all male, all female or two of each. It would be great if we could get a couple of teams together. We already have a strong base for one team in Jonathan Thomson and Gareth Jones. This is a fantastic opportunity to experience and enjoy this brilliant venue and be part of a club team. In the first instance please contact newsletter@chaser.me.uk we also need someone to captain this event. For details: http://www.entrycentral.com/Greenwich-team-relay-duathlon
THIS WEEK’S COACHED SESSIONS:
Tuesday with Andrea, suitable for all levels and aimed to help improve speed and endurance.
Thursday hills with Andrea.
The session details are usually posted on our Facebook page on the day.
For details about other sessions on Tuesdays and across the week plus our Coach to 5K programme for non-members please see the club website or Facebook page.
RACE RESULTS
To include your results in the newsletter please email Andrea (newsletter@chaser.me.uk) with the details. A brief description of what you thought of the race and if you would recommend it to others would be great too, but not essential. There is no need to send results from Club races such as Summer League, Southern Athletics League and Start Fitness Metropolitan Cross Country League as these are gathered by the team captains / event managers.
