Race results and reports

Free to enter - there is just one event left in the SAL and we need athletes for track and field events and volunteers to join the team in Newham, Saturday August 15. This is a great opportunity to try out runs, jumps and throws and score points for the club in this our first year back to track and field since the last century. For details please see the club website and register your interest via the events page or email Kelly at athletics@chaser.me.uk

The FINAL SUMMER LEAGUE event, also free to enter and with food, is hosted by Serpies at Battersea Park, Sunday August 16. The adult race is 10K with tenderfoot mile for children and relays. Details on the website www.chaser.me.uk plus links to previous results (we are still waiting for Headstone results).

Triathlon England London League has just THREE EVENTS LEFT with the 6 September Triathlon sold out. The last two are: London Fields Aquathlon (400m heated outdoor pool swim + 5K run) – a fun event perfect for all levels from beginners to experienced triathletes with fab cakes, 4 October; Jekyll and Hyde Duathlon – cycle, run, cycle, tough but great for all levels, end of October. For details about triathlon at the club visit the website or contact Andrea at triathlon@chaser.me.uk

Tuesday evenings are the main time when we all get together after our runs over tea and biscuits on the mezzanine level and it would be great if you volunteered to make the tea once a year, please. This requires cutting your usual run a bit shorter but we all appreciate the effort and it is a shame to see this tradition disappearing due to lack of volunteers – if we each take a turn that would be wonderful.

The Mornington Chasers Regent’s Park WINTER SERIES 10K is how we raise most of our funds. We need members to volunteer to marshal these races. In return you get free entry to another race in the series. The races are run on the first Sunday of the month from October to March inclusive and we need people to volunteer for October. If you can help, in the first instance please speak with Avril Riddell or email newsletter@chaser.me.uk

The final event in the Sri Chinmoy Monday night races in Battersea Park is the 3 x 1 mile relay. The race starts at 19:00. This is an exciting, fun event that sees people of all levels battling it out on this fast, flat course. For details please go to the events page on the club website www.chaser.me.uk, see our Facebook page and arrange teams there or just turn up at Battersea with £4 and your club vest by 18:30.

For those of you who are on STRAVA, we have a Mornington Chasers STRAVA group (https://www.strava.com/clubs/mornington-chasers). Members can like each other's activities, comment on them or simply see what others are doing. Thank you to Phil Tysoe for the reference.
