CLUB NEWS

The CLUB HOSTS SUMMER LEAGUE event on Sunday 19 July - urgent call out to all members! We need volunteers to help set up and marshal the event plus prepare the food and, of course, run. Please volunteer your services now and contact Rob (robmitch@jayadog.com) and for food preparation please email Rafaele (rafaelelamour@hotmail.co.uk). Members who plan to run are also encouraged to help with the food preparation (make sandwiches, bake cakes and so on) and children's events / relays. We need as many people as possible to make this a fantastic event for our club so please encourage family and friends to get involved too.

Summer League offers a series of races in an inter-club competition. For details please see the club website. Two events remain in the series, both 10K, Regent's Park as above and the Serpie hosted Battersea Park. Fun, friendly and free to enter, all the events are suitable for all levels.

On the SATURDAY EVENING, THE DAY BEFORE OUR SUMMER LEAGUE, many of the original Chasers gather for a reunion and PRESENTATION OF LIFETIME MEMBERSHIPS in the back room at the Pineapple, Kentish Town, from 19:00. If you would like to join them and celebrate with the people who started our fabulous club, share food, beer and chat you are most welcome. Please let Seb know who is in contact with founder member Gerry Naughton.

SOUTHERN ATHLETICS LEAGUE
There is just one event left in the SAL and we need athletes for track and field events and volunteers to join the team in Newham, August 15. For details please see the club website and register your interest via the events page or email Kelly at athletics@chaser.me.uk

MILE RELAYS & 5Ks,MONDAY EVENINGS
The popular Sri Chinmoy 3 x 1 mile relays return this summer on Mondays 20 JULY and 10 AUGUST. Please register your interest via the online form on our website events page - all signees can then be contacted and teams agreed. Although very competitive at the front of the field, this is a fantastic, fun event for members of all ages and abilities where the cheering is loud and the atmosphere electric. The entry fee is 4:50 per person. Sri Chinmoy also organise 5K races over the summer, the remaining dates are 13, 27 July and 3 August.

For those of you who are on STRAVA, we have a Mornington Chasers STRAVA group (https://www.strava.com/clubs/mornington-chasers). There are currently 37 people registered. Members can like each other's activities, comment on them or simply see what others are doing. Thank you to Phil Tysoe for the reference.

The free Couch to 5K programme, continues to grow with additional people signing up. More details about the start of the next programme to be included in next newsletter. In the meantime, if you know anyone who may be interested please ask them to register via the website.

TRIATHLON
Triathlon England London League
We are one of the participating clubs in the Triathlon England London League. The club website events page has details of the races or www.triathlonengland.org.uk. We are currently mid-table in the mob match and it would be great if we could earn a few more points before the end of the season.
Triathlon England run a series of duathlons at the Velopark at the Olympic Park including women only events www.veloparkduathlons.com for details.
For members who are interested in triathlon we have set up a Facebook page please let Andrea know via newsletter@chaser.me.uk if you are interested in being part of this group.

CROSS COUNTRY DATES
Dates for your diaries, details to follow and be included in events listings.
10 October, Claybury
7 November, Stevenage
5 December, Ally Pally
16 January, Horsenden Hill
13 February, Wormwood Scrubs

RACE RESULTS
To include your results in the newsletter please email Andrea (newsletter@chaser.me.uk) with the details. A brief description of what you thought of the race and if you would recommend it to others would be great too, but not essential. There is no need to send results from Club races such as Summer League, Southern Athletics League and Cross Country as these are gathered by the team captains / event managers. At the time of writing this I was waiting for weekend results (in vain) so next week should have a bumper package to report. In the meantime, congratulations to all of you who raced around the country (and further afield?).

SOUTHERN ATHLETICS LEAGUE
