CLUB NEWS
The FIRST Summer League event is Sunday 31 May in DULWICH PARK. The 5 mile race starts at 0930. For details summerleague.meteror.com Also check out our Facebook page this week for travel arrangements, car share, train times and so on.
Next Sunday is also the next event in the SOUTHERN ATHLETICS LEAGUE calendar please contact Kelly at athletics@chaser.me.uk or through the link on the Events page of our website if you would like to be part of the team. It doesn't matter if you are new to track racing or athletics, this is a wonderful opportunity to give it a go with the support of your club mates.
On Thursday evening, after track training with Tom, Jon Train, REGIONAL MANAGER TRIATHLON ENGLAND is coming to the Camden Brewery to meet with Avril, Andrea and any members interested in triathlon (or any of the component disciplines). He is interested in finding out more about the club's triathlon aspirations and to let us know what is available through the London Region. Please let Andrea know at triathlon@chaser.me.uk if you are interested in coming along.
An early date for your diary: Seb is planning a club SUMMER BBQ in Waterlow Park, Highgate on Saturday 5 September. Details in due course.
YOGA has been a regular part of the club's weekly diary for several years now and offers excellent complementary training for runners. Our Yoga teacher and member, Amy, is a fine example of how effective yoga can be and we are very grateful for her teaching. It has therefore been an incredibly difficult decision for the committee to make in deciding to change the way the club is prepared to subsidise yoga for members in the future. The increasing cost of room hire and the very low numbers of members attending the classes meant that the relative cost became unsustainably high and increasingly difficult to justify. The committee has suggested a plan to Amy to continue subsidising yoga for members if she decides to establish an independent class. In the meantime the current Wednesday night yoga classes continue until the end of June.
Do you have plans to, or currently use the PARLIAMENT HILL TRACK for training at times other than just during club training sessions? If so, please contact Andrea at newsletter@chaser.me.uk with details.
Due to personal commitments, Sarah Brogden has unfortunately had to leave the Committee (thank you for your work Sarah and all good wishes for your wedding) so a new KIT MANAGER to both look after stock control and investigate additional items to the Mornington Chaser's wardrobes is required. If you are interested in this important role, please contact Avril.

MIDDLESEX COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP, Saturday 23 May
Our county athletics championships, this year held at Lee Valley.
Dave Renton 2:21.71 (pb)
WESTMINSTER MILE, Sunday 24 May
Fabulous conditions for this wonderful annual event. Starting where the marathon finishes on the Mall and finishing in front of Buckingham Palace, the wide flat road offers perfect pb potential. Now in its third year, today it celebrated 30 years of Steve Cram's mile breaking record and he was there both setting off the adult waves and running in the Olympians wave.
The times listed below are provisional and some of the waves appear to be gun to finish rather than chip times (possibly up to 10s out, depending on where people were when the gun went off).
Georg Isola 5:43
David Nelson 6:06
Patrick Gilmore 6:08
Andrea Sanders-Reece 6:32
Avril Riddell 6:34
Angharad Gilmore 6:50
Charlotte Lund 6:56
Lizzy Muggeridge 7:32 (another impressive pb time)
ROYAL MAIL GREENWICH PARK 10K, Sunday 24 May
Lovely with the sun shining but very hilly!
Sarah Whittaker-Axon 48:53 (3rd woman)
