Cross Country The London Cross Country Champs will take place at Parliament Hill on the 18th of November. Remember to sign up to run by tomorrow (24th October). There are no entries on the day. The next Met League fixture will take place at Welwyn Garden City on the 11th of November. It’s a short train journey from Kings Cross or Finsbury Park. Club Survey Results The results of the annual club survey are out now. You can access them here. In summary: Overall satisfaction with the club is high, with 85% either satisfied or very satisfied. The incidence of long-term running injuries is low, and the vast majority (85%) feel that their running has improved due to running with the club Training, racing and socialising are important elements of what the club offers for most of you Not always finding a suitable run available on a Tuesday is identified as a problem for some. At the same time, only 22% said that they often volunteer to lead runs on Tuesdays. This raises the question, how can we encourage more club members to lead runs, especially those who aren’t happy with the selection of runs being offered? There is plenty of volunteering going on, but a few areas where it would be great if more people could step up to help. If you’ve never made the tea, why not give it a go? Finally, only 8% of you think that England Athletics fees should increase this year. We will feed this back to EA. Tuesday Runs As stated above, only 22% of people in the club regularly lead Tuesday runs. Remember that anyone can offer to lead a run and you can choose any distance, pace and route. Have a look at this list of routes if you need some inspiration. You can also borrow some of the clubs head torches if you want to venture onto the Heath or down the canal on winter nights. Fred Hughes 10 Entries are now open for the Fred Hughes 10 miler which takes place in January in St Albans. Alongside the National Cross Country Champs in February, this is one of our target races for the winter.  Sign up for a place here. Please note- there will be no newsletter next week.
