Race results and reports
SUMMER LEAGUE results are not yet out for last Sunday nor the complete list of trophies for people to collect from the club (if you missed the prize giving). As these races are handled by volunteers from the clubs, checking times and working out points can take a bit of time.
Our CLUB HOSTS SUMMER LEAGUE event on Sunday 19 July – please put this date in your diary. Rob Mitchell is to Race Direct on the day. We need volunteers to help run and marshal the event plus prepare the food and, of course, run. Details about exactly what is required are to follow but if you would like to volunteer your services now please speak to Rob or Lizzy (Summer League Organiser).
On the SATURDAY EVENING, THE DAY BEFORE OUR SUMMER LEAGUE the old Chasers brigade are planning to book a room at the Pineapple, Kentish Town at 19:00. If you would like to join them and share some food, beer and chat you are most welcome. Please let Seb know who is in contact with founder member Gerry about this.
The NEXT SUMMER LEAGUE RACE is next Sunday, 14 June at Headstone Manor, hosted by Metros - 10K race followed by the children’s mile and relays plus picnic. This is a terrific team event, for which the club pays your entry fees, and a great opportunity to get to know and cheer on your club mates (especially in the relays). Details can be seen in the Events section on our website.
Due to Cabbage Patch being cancelled, this year the CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP RACE is to be The Mornington Chasers Regents Park 10K on Sunday, 1 November. Please state that you are a member of Mornington Chasers when you sign up and pay online at www.nice-work.org.uk If you are new to the club this is a fabulous way to experience a race that we have long been associated with and is the source of most of our funds. Basically the winter series 10Ks in the Regent’s Park are why we keep subscription rates low and include many additional benefits. Volunteers from the club are always welcome and actively encouraged to marshal at the events which run from October to March.
ATHLETICS / TRACK TEAM PRACTICE SESSION is planned for next Saturday, 13 June at Parliament Hill. This is an informal session in preparation for the next SAL event 20 June. Please contact Kelly at firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to take part in this session or be part of the team and which events you are interested in. Each of the meetings has 4 x 100m and 4 x 400m relays and volunteers from each of the participating clubs.
Do you have plans to, or currently use the PARLIAMENT HILL TRACK for training at times other than just during club training sessions? If so, please contact Andrea at email@example.com with details.
