New Year's Day Success for Chasers in Hyde Park 10K
A fabulous start to the New Year for Chasers at the Serpentine Hyde Park 10K. Fiona Russell, Jane Nodder and Andrea Sanders-Reece each topped their age categories and together won the women's team prize. An excellent turn out of runners and supporters plus sunshine, in this well organised annual event, helped make the day memorable.
Emails to Mornington Chasers Running Club
Unfortunately I cannot currently access emails sent to Mornington Chasers so, if you have sent an email to the club and not received a response this is why. Hopefully normal service will be resumed soon and apologies for any problems this may cause you. If you are interested in joining our club, please see our Membership page on this site. If you decide to join us for a trial session, please introduce yourself to one of our club captains when you arrive, this is important to ensure someone watches out for you. New members need to be able to run for at least 20 minutes without stopping.

Summer League 2012 Dates
The fabulous Summer League kicks off on 10th June in Dulwich where we also receive the trophy for our second year as League Champions. For those of you new to the club, The Summer League is a fun and friendly series of 10K or 5 mile races (for all club members of all standards); tenderfoot races for your children; relays and picnic food provided by the host club. Several clubs form the league and runners win points for their club in a competition of friendly, supportive rivalry. There is an overall winning club plus individual trophies in age group categories (adult and children). The tenderfoot races and relays all contribute to the points score. Summer League offers a fantastic opportunity to support your team mates and meet other London club runners. Please put these dates in your diary! 10 June, Dulwich Park; 24 June, Metros; 8 July ESM; 22 July Mornington Chasers (volunteers also needed for cooking, marshalling etc.); 19 August, Serpentine.
Thursday 1 March Coaching Cancelled
Unfortunately the coaching session with Tom this evening has been cancelled, for which Tom is most apologetic and assures us that normal regular service will return next week.
Please note that there is also a committee meeting this evening, so members are requested to organise their own groups and session (it was to be hills and the details for this are on the events page).
Welsh Castles Relay 2012
12/01/2012
It is already time to start putting together a team for the famous Welsh Castles Relay.
This year the race will be held on the SATURDAY 9TH and SUNDAY 10TH of JUNE. In order to apply we need to know if enough people are interested and willing to commit to the date by the end of February when applications close.
This fantastic race takes place over two days with 10 stages per day covering over 200 miles from the North to the South of Wales. We need a team of 20 runners of all levels to participate. Around 60 teams take part in the race.

Many congratulations to the many members who took part in the Summer League this year, as runner, supporter or volunteer, and helped us to another victory. Although competitive, the Summer League is a wonderful, inclusive and friendly series of races for adults and children run by Series member clubs all over London. It includes relays and a picnic by the hosting club. More to follow …..
25th Anniversary Picnic
Warmth and sunshine reflected the mood of our 25th Anniversary Picnic in Regents Park on Sunday 24th July. It was wonderful to see so many members, both current and from our 25 years, enjoying the afternoon and sharing stories. Our original chairman, Johnny Roe (who remains an active member of the Club both on the committee and as a runner),gave a brief speech, highlighting a few memories then he and Sarah Mayne cut the splendid birthday cake. Food in abundance and Champagne contributed to the excellent spirit of the day.
The picnic was preceded by the Summer League event - one of the most enjoyable events in the race calendar where everyone is welcome, indeed encouraged, to run whatever your age or standard.
Many, many thanks to everyone who helped to make this such a splendid day - from the cooks, drink buyers, servers, picnic providers through to marshalls and race organisation team who set up the course and ran the event. Your help was so very much appreciated.
